.Ephesians 6:1-3 NLT

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.

"Honor your father and mother. " This is the first commandment with a promise:

If you honor your father and mother,

"things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth."

Greek Word: Brephos

an unborn child, embryo, a foetus. a new-born child, an infant, a babe.

Mitton, a biblical scholar, says that Paul is addressing "children old enough to make a personal

commitment to Christ, but still young enough to be living at home."

Ephesians 6:1 (NLT) Children and Parents

Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.

The principle of submissions: if you’re going to be held accountable for something, then you need

to be given the proper authority to do the job.

As Christians, we're to submit to those in authority.

Ezekiel 33:3-6 NLT

When the watchman sees the enemy coming, he sounds the alarm to warn the people. Then if

those who hear the alarm refuse to take action, it is their own fault if they die. They heard the

alarm but ignored it, so the responsibility is theirs (not the watchman's). If they had listened to the

warning, they could have saved their lives. But if the watchman sees the enemy coming and

doesn't sound the alarm to warn the people, he is responsible for their captivity. They will die in

their sins, but I will hold the watchman responsible for their deaths.

Judges 6:25-26 NLT

That night the LORD said to Gideon,

"Take the second bull from your father's herd, the one that is seven years old. Pull down your

father's altar to Baal, and cut down the Asherah pole standing beside it. Then build an altar to the

LORD your God here on this hilltop sanctuary, laying the stones carefully. Sacrifice the bull as a

burnt offering on the altar, using as fuel the wood of the Asherah pole you cut down.”

command! 5 When you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and other

musical instruments, bow to the ground to worship King Nebuchadnezzar’s gold statue. 6 Anyone

who refuses to obey will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.”

"I will give you one more chance to bow down and worship the statue I have made when you hear

the sound of the musical instruments. But if you refuse, you will be thrown immediately into the

blazing furnace. And then what god will be able to rescue you from my power?” statue. Anyone

who refuses to obey will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.” Shadrach, Meshach, and

Abednego replied, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are

thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from

your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn't, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty,

that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up."
